Bring your sewing machine to Sue’s Quilt Shop, and Phoenix will transport it to her workshop in Minneapolis for a professional tune-up, cleaning, and lubrication. You’ll also receive a new needle and bobbin. Email updates will be sent with clear and concise options if repairs are needed.

Please note: Phoenix Fixes Sewing Machines does not service cast-iron, treadle, Featherweight, or Bernina-brand sewing machines.

What to Expect

Drop-off: Bring your sewing machine, foot pedal, power cord, bobbin case (if needed), and zigzag presser foot to the event location. Complete the service agreement and pay $120. If you’d like to complete the form ahead of time, please use this link to print and fill it out.

Once payment is received and the service authorization is signed, your sewing machine will be photographed and labeled with an identification tag.

If the machine is in a cabinet or console, please remove it before bringing it in.

It is recommended that you bring your machine in a transport case.

Service: Phoenix will transport all sewing machines from the event to her shop in South Minneapolis. There, she will professionally tune up the machines, clean the machine's interior of lint and old lubricant, and apply new lubricant. A test sew will be performed both before and after service with a new needle and bobbin that you get to keep.

An email update will be sent once servicing is completed. If further service is needed, an email request for approval will be sent with clear and concise options.

Pickup: Come to the event location where you dropped off your sewing machine, and give Phoenix your name and your sewing machine's brand. Your sewing machine will be handed over to you to take home.

Beware: Your happy sewing machine may operate a little differently after a week at camp! It is often noted that the foot pedal is more sensitive, and the sewing machine may stitch faster.

  • An email will be sent to you with clear and concise options and the cost of each one. Once you approve of an option, parts will be ordered and applied. If the part doesn’t come in before the pickup date, further arrangements will be made.

  • Payment of $120 and a signed Service Authorization form will be required at drop-off. If you’d like to fill out the form ahead of time, please use this link to print and complete it.

    Should your sewing machine require repair, you’ll be emailed clear, concise options, including pricing, to choose from. Payment for these additional repairs will be due when your sewing machine is picked up.

  • If an emergency should arise and you're unable to pick up your sewing machine on the agreed upon dat, please contact Phoenix at phoenixfixessm@gmail.com‍ ‍to make alternative arrangements.

    Sewing machines not picked up during the time agreed upon at drop-off will be transported back to Minneapolis, and the owner is responsible for arranging pickup from Phoenix Fixes Sewing Machine’s shop. If arrangements are not made within 30 days, the sewing machine becomes the property of Phoenix Fixes Sewing Machines.

  • Please bring the foot pedal, power cord, bobbin case (if needed), and zig-zag presser foot for your machine. Sewing Machines without these items will not be accepted. If the machine is in a cabinet or console, please remove it before bringing it in. It is recommended that you bring your machine in a transport case.m description
