Phoenix’s Story

A longtime sewing enthusiast, she enjoys garment sewing, small quilting projects, and bringing well-loved sewing machines back to life. She is currently apprenticing through the Sewing Doc Academy, where she is receiving hands-on professional training in sewing machine service and repair.

Before opening her workshop, Phoenix worked as a technical writer, creating clear, easy-to-follow instructions for software companies. She brings that same attention to detail and clear communication to every customer interaction, taking the time to explain repairs and help sewists better understand their machines.

Phoenix's goal is to keep as many sewing machines as possible running smoothly—and out of landfills. She has a special appreciation for the colorful machines of the 1950s and 1960s and loves helping them sew beautifully for another generation. When she's not in the workshop, you'll often find her tending pollinator and native plant gardens.
