The Greater Englewood Community Development Corporation’s goal is to encourage the development of commerce in a neighborhood with one of the worst reputations. I was contracted to edit the voice of the content, create visual aids, and design a multi-page brochure to further this goal.

Content Editing and Improvement

Pulling on my experience mingling with business owners and entrepreneurs at numerous networking events, I realized the copy given to me for this brochure was too cold and factual. In addition, the paragraphs conveying important statistics were very difficult to understand.

I presented a paragraph that had been rewritten in a welcoming and warm tone as well as a simple visual created from the information written in the content to the client at our next meeting. He agreed it was an improvement and took my examples to the board who also agreed and approved that I move forward with massaging the copy into a warm and welcoming tone as well as creating more visuals for important statistics.
